Fruit of the Earth

Nothing is yummier than gemstones and beads from India. Shopping at the wholesale shows in Tucson every year, I’m hard pressed not to buy everything in sight, but especially Indian stones in the jewel colors of ripe fruit. The name of this collection came to me before I snapped up the first amethyst, peridot, or citrine stones. Gemstones are the fruit of the earth.

Fruit grows over the entire world, so I had to add in some luscious larimar from the Dominican Republic as well as coral and queen conch shell beads. Charoite reminds me of blueberries swirled in vanilla ice cream. Yummy, yummy, yummy.

Your friends won’t literally drool over these pieces when you wear them, but they won’t be able to hold back on the compliments.

The collection includes lots of nearly edible earrings too.
